- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Our mortgage is through Wells Fargo. Making our payment is nothing short of a hassle. Paying over the automated system is around $15 and paying over the phone with an operator is $30! You cannot pay your bill online unless your checking account is also through Wells Fargo. I have no choice, really, but to pay in person at the bank. They can never find my account information and it's always such a pain. I have yet to have a pleasant experience. The people at the bank are nice, but the process of actually paying the bill is ridiculous. Once I tried to pay the mortgage while my husband was in the car with our sleeping baby. Turns out, I can't use my husband's debit card, I have to use mine even if I have his ID with me. He can't pay the mortgage unless he has my ID. We made about 3 trips to and from the car before we could finally get the bill paid. Another time, everything was such a hassle that I later told my husband that I almost left the mortgage payment on the counter and walked away. It shouldn't be so difficult to give these people the money I owe them. Just let me pay my bill online with my own bank like every other business on the planet.
